I paint it in MARUKEN-style. I paint with the paint which I weakened with water.

I paint like a watercolor.

Interesting effect.....

Uchiumi-san,

Is your model brush-painted?.

I like that faded olive green faded, but maybe it is too much faded for a car finish.
I think different areas might have diferent effects. What do you think?

My painting method

December 3 2008, 7:06 AM

Hello Luciano SUN.

Yes, I paint with this model with a brush.

I paint it in MARUKEN-style. MARUKEN-style is how to paint that Mr Iwashige devised.
He gave me big influence. The method fitted me.

I paint MARUKEN-style in the color that I weakened with water.
I thicken a color by repeating a color. A color becomes the irregularity at the time.
It will look like an embezzled car.

What a wonderfull works....!

December 3 2008, 8:43 AM

Uchiumi-san,

Yes, I know those wonderfull works. They are very inspirational indeed.

I saw Iwashige-san small vignettes in Hobby Japan Military Modelling Manuals Magazine not long ago. You are right. The Maruken painting style is very effective there.

I think the effect in your car is fine, but I think it will be good to add more effects and details.

Please take a look at those images of a Staff Car one good friend and excellent modeller is making. I think this works is also very inspirational, deshou?. wink.gif

His name is Joaquin Garcia Gazquez and maybe you know him because his works are featured in Japan on Master Modelers Magazine recently.

Hope this helps.
Lu
