I know that most of you are not very fan of soft skins, but I am, and I can't resist.
This is the new Tamiya Tilly kit.
I added the trunk cavas top frames and the wires for the front lights.
A weekend model, very simple to built.

Please, if anyone have some info about the British N. Africa camouflage pattern, please send me.

Tank you,
Best, Hilton.

Sand and a darkgreen

February 10 2009, 1:28 PM

a very darkgreen, close to that one used in the aircracft cockpits.
The late war was in a green close to OD and black.

Great photo, I like the hat...

February 10 2009, 1:25 PM

Allan, tank you very much!
Sorry, no time for internet, just for modelling...
I will go for a plain light desert-brown color.
I also will add the left head lights as in the photo, with out the right one.
The pic show the mickey-mouse camo,Tamiya also point in this direction,
but as the tilly was not a front line vehicle, I will paint it in a simple way.
Posting pics as I finnished it.
Tanks, Hiltonn

Cute little model...

February 10 2009, 6:07 AM

Hilton,

You are a super fast modeller. Nice choice I cannot wait to make mine too. happy.gif

As for the desert scheme, I discussed that matter with Mike not loing ago and nothing definitive. As for a British version it is reasonable to think the Tillies were NOT camouflaged (just sand overall) because no need for it as they were not front line vehicles, but I think nothing wrong if you camouflage yours after all. wink.gif

Lu

PS: Luke that aussie Tilly looks perfect for you mate. wink.gif

tank you all!

February 10 2009, 12:23 PM

I'm building a pair. The first one was to be finnished yesterday nignt, suffered an accident with inadequade use of pigment fixer...

My falt, the products are very fine. I just need to learn and pratice a little more...

Ok, the first one was to be a RAF one, in a nice blue. The modulation was great.

Now I understood why Lu call me a fast modeller. I'm going faster than my legs. If I had waited untill tonight the modell will be in a better shape by now.

So, lets re-start it.

The other one I will do in desert colors, no camouflage, plain light desert, not pink either.

I found some info that the Tamiya kit is the early Austin.

So if someone is starting it, be carefull with the late war mickey mouse camo...

If the ETO was the choice, better go for a plain green camo.

Will post pics as soon as possible, Hilton.
