Allied Group Build- KV-1 part 2... It was not to be, Comrades

Well...

I had allotted plenty of time for paint. If everything went to plan. So as not to bore you with details, let me quote the wisdom of Sun Tzu " no battle plan survives contact with the enemy" ... Next time, maybe. happy.gif

This is the very early stage of my paint process. Filters have been applied, but there effect is hidden to some degree by the shine. That shine is due to the future I put down for the decals. I have found that everything needs to be treated equally no matter if it gets decals or not to maintain an overall uniform finish. I think it also helps with washes.
I was rushing to beat the deadline. A few minor mishaps cropped up, as they always do when I rush things. So I have decided to take the time needed to get the finish I have in mind. Overall I am very pleased with what I have at the moment. Now I need to avoid the eleventh hour disaster.

Take your time....

But finish it soon, okay? happy.gif

John,

I see no reason to be in a rush now. As I said in the post above surely some more Allied Power builds will arise in the following weeks, so just enjoy your model at your pace because it is going very well. The fact is the KV looks very nice now and will change again once that shiny finish will be toned down later.

Looks Great So Far John

The paint is looking excellent - the shading and mapping are just super and the smoothness of the paint is spot on for a fantastic final finish (have to try the gloss coat technique with my next monochrome one). Look forward to seeing it in all its glory happy.gif

Malen Sie Tag....

Or, Paint day.

Yeah it's nice out, and I should be at the beach or doing something, but I have the painting bug! So I will be attacking the KV with various colors to get it to look used and neglected. I still have the plan in mind, now I need to make it happen. Hopefully I will not keep you waiting too long. And I need to clear this off the bench so I am not late starting the Hanomag GB. Yes, I am looking forward to that one. I have even found a picture to inspire me...

Thanks for all your kind comments, Gents.

Cheers,
John
