This is my first post in this forum. I mainly like to play :D with 1/72nd scale armour but I also like to enjoy some other challenges... so here you got. This is my aproach to a 1/48th PTO US crewman. I have sculptered it with Tamiya epoxy putty and, latter, it was (home made) resin casted.
I´m far away to become a figure sculptor so I know it is far from perfect but keep in mind this is just for fun. Here you got it assembled and primed.
I haven´t added some uniform details -like chest pockets or buttons- but the idea is to place it on a hatch, inside the tank... just a matter of sculpting economy! :D
Now it is time to paint it. I hope to post the complete figure soon!
Needless to say, any imput will be higly welcomed!
T(h)anks in advance and best regards!
Alvaro
PS Before anyone asks, the "cmt" labels on the resin parts are not a commercial brand... just a personal seal for my own castings!
Hi alvaro! I´m frequently asking myself where you were..., here is the answer! Your sculpting skills are, as always in you, superb, I only can envy you. These face, helmet, arms, etc..., no words..., I only can say you congratulations for such a splendid work. Don´t stop to sculpt, please, the 1/48 community needs more figures like these.
The power of the family Rodriguez..., twin brothers also in talent.
Best regards.
Manel
P.S.: Superb resin cast also, very clean.
Thank you very much for your encouraging words. I´m really surprised with your warm welcome... because -I told you- this was just for fun! :D
In fact, IMHO the figure it is a bit big when compared with some other available figures in plastic -I mean, ICM ones mainly- but you may not notice it when placed in the hatch. I´m not talented enough to become a true sculptor!
For those who have asked for a copy, I will be glad to provide it, so check your email. If I may, I only would ask you to use it, please!
And, if you may accept it, my advise would be to send your wishes to Manel Arin. He´s the man when we are talking about figure sculpting because he´s truly gifted for that! The Screaming Eagles recently posted here talk by themselves!
That´s all for now. I hope to post the painted figure asap.
