and lights in happy.gif

Hi Lads, minor progress so far. Sorry Lu, I know I said it would be a straight OOB build.. but I could not resist adding a lens for the light happy.gif

Tools used on the part in the pix.

[linked image]

I drilled the center from the back to get a good start point and then used the various files, drill bits etc to ream out the plastic light bulb until I had the circular surround. The 4mm lens pops in perfectly. Nerve wrecking .. but patience paid off. Part now safe in sealed jiffy bag for use at a later date happy.gif

Loose fit on the sprue

Best

Paul

Do you really think it is safe in your "sealed bag"?
I would go check.....

Paul,

Always love you very graphic style that makes one image worths one thousand words, even for that sort of tiny details. wink.gif

Well done and glad to see the SU progressing.

And I could learn a few things from you on how to best illustrate step-by-step procedures.

A very professional approach, my Irish Mate. Also, I love your method for lenses, I do something very similar, and the results are more than worth the extra bit of effort.

Cheers Brother, Pat

Plugging away :)

Hey Owen, yep dead sure the part is safe in the jiffy bag.... left a decoy in a similar bag to act as bait. Real McCoy is 100§ secure... at least I think it is wink.gif

Lu and Pat - two guys who have helped me disover the joy of modelling again. Tis only fair if we are to grow our hobby that we do what we can do to share what we learn along the way, what ever way we can. I do suffer from writing in a prosiac fashion which can lead to confusion so I thought it best just to show what is used during the modeling bout to get the end result for a particular part. As Lu say's a picture is sometimes worth a 1000 words. One thing I must see about is building a proper light setup to get consistent photo results.

Anyways... more progress should be made during the week as I think my seasonal work is becoming patchy this week and it looks like I will have some extra free time this coming week or two happy.gif

Carry on lads happy.gif LOTS of good stuff appearing in the GB happy.gif

Best

Paul
