Undercoated in XF-1 Flat Black, then mottled/streaked with XF-2 Flat White, XF-18 Medium Blue, XF-24 Dark Grey, and XF-80 Royal Light Grey. Some XF-52 Flat Earth down low. Not sure what colour filter(s) to try. Would prefer to keep the white near off-white or ivory, rather than changing it too much. Any thoughts/suggestions much appreciated.
Wondering whether there is any place for a selective use of hairspray technique hair to make the winter white more irregular. Suppose it depends in part on whether you're working to references.
Nice base for a winter Marder.
I think that a dark wash will look nice, to mark the lines and profile the raised elements.
Maybe some white oil paint motling somewhere to make the white paint a little more irregular in some points?
And I think that dark mud on the tracks and splashes on the wheels would look great.
You can get some nice ideas of JL Lopezīs winter Tiger some posts below.
That is another interesting approach following your very own painting style. You made it right for the green JS, for the green firefly, for the camouflaged Stuke-zu-fuss and now it's again working out quite well for a white wash finish.
Hi Rob: I'm finding these kits go together out-of-the-box far more quickly than my usual aircraft projects. So little filling, and no seam line sanding! Great for speed building. Hope you find a little more time soon. Cheers, Ralph.
Hello Lu: it sort of looks like a loose Luftwaffe fighter fuselage mottle up close. Nothing at all like the beautiful box art! Yes - a great little kit. Must find the III M version! Cheers, Ralph.
Beign a winter subject, I think I would have already painted both wheels and tracks woth different brown shades! No need to spend time painting those in their original colours, IMHO!
