rj vanri ... and conversely .. "with no technique, all putters will not work"..!!! If you believe a certain putter design will provide you with a putting technique, you are being subjectively emotional about your putting. Of course you are the sole judge of your "feelings", but you should not attribute the same subjectivity to all others who play golf.
Of the world's 50 million "golfers", virtually all of them have faulty or no putting technique .. because they don't really know what they are doing, and they don't know how to practice because they don't understand what putting is all about. Geoff Mangum provides the knowledge necessary to putt properly ... for only %15.95 in his Optimal Putting eBook. If you haven't read his book, you really don't know what you are talking about when you use the term "feel" ... and that is so obvious in your posting above.
You and most others believe that there is a magical feedback emanating from the putter head and even weighting in the shaft. If you try it and like it, you call that good "feel" in total ignorance. If you really don't know what you are doing during the putting stroke you shouldn't attribute these magical "feel" feelings to that design.
Your Tiger Woods example is a non sequitor, because Tiger has practiced enough to know what he wants in his putter design for competition performance. Of course, if you want to putt like Tiger, you might want to purchase his model Scotty Cameron to "feel" what he "feels"... notwithstanding your dubious putting technique. |
