Path vs. Clubface Orientation

Hi Geoff,
Here's an interesting phenomenon I've observed with regards to path vs. clubface orientation. I would be interested in your assessment:

I have a Pelz Putting Track, which I've been utilizing in an effort to groove the PILS stroke. I am able to successfully perform a consistent straight-line stroke path (without hitting the side rails of the Putting Track). However, what I've noticed is that even though I maintain a straight path back and through, my clubface opens slightly on the backstroke, and closes slightly after impact. (I have a Railgun putter, shaped kinda' like the letter "H", which makes it very easy to see when my putter face is open or closed, relative to the Putting Track rails.)

In order to keep the clubface perfectly square throughout the PILS stroke, it feels like I need to rotate my wrists in the reverse direction (to offset the natural opening and closing of the clubface). This doesn't feel right.

So...I'm trying to assess the optimum trade-off between path, clubface angle, and human body dynamics. Which would give me the best chance at a consistent, repeatable, accurate putting stroke?

1) Straight path but with slight "natural" opening/closing of clubface (basically what I'm doing now).
2) Straight path but counteract the natural opening/closing of the clubface through what feels like reverse wrist rotation. (Accomplishes a true PILS stroke, but feels forced).
3) Forget about the straight path, and instead let my path naturally go inside-square-inside, in concert with the natural opening/closing of the clubface.

If you'd be so kind as to offer your insights, I'd really appreciate it.

Best Regards,

PS - We traded e-mails on the side-saddle technique a couple weeks ago. Thanks again for your response.
