Hi all ...

I'm a newcomer to this forum and I am amazed by the insight and info especially on Putting mechanism and PHYSICS!!!Nice work Geoff !!!

I'm a recent graduate from Master of Aerospace Engineering (University of Toronto)who got into the game of golf couple years ago and now become addicted! I managed to break 100 this year (season)... Well ... still long way to go ...

Anyway ... here is what I love to do in my spare time ... making and crafting models (and piano too), especially Car models (anyone?) ... Recently, I was so inspired by this Putting website and I decide to make a decorative limited edition Putting Figure ... and I post it on eBay ... it's simple-pendulum .. perfect putting figure ... Please check it out

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Viewitem&item=1579986468

and give me comments ... thankx!
by the way ... I just called this beloved Putting figure "DrainO" ... if you have some cool names ... let me know ... : )

Nice sculpture

Hi Dany,
your sculpture looks very nice. But it is not a perfect Modell for the physics of the puttstroke. You make sort of the same mistake as D. Pelz by the contstruction of his "putting robot" Perfy. I'll write an article on this in "http://www.golfforum.de. If there is interest I could translate it into English.

Drain-O is cute, but a bit pricey at $35.00, I think! I checked out your little guy and the price seemed a bit high even though he is handmade. I just received my new Golfsmith catalog and near the front of this issue are 3 little golf items for $19.00! One is a golfer, dressed rather nicely, that is putting; another is a golfer, nattily dressed in golf attire, standing with his driver, and the 3rd item is a power cart. They look to be about 5-6 inches tall, very cute and only about $19.00 for all three! True, they're quite different from your handmade Drain-O, but quite reasonably priced!
Just thought this might help as you asked for some feedback. Good luck with your project.

Hi Larry,

Thanks for comment, Larry. Oooo are those golf putting items moving, or just decoratives? I'm curious ... and I'm happy to hear your comment on the pricing as well ... 'cuz I would like to possibly set up a golf toy project if I "make" things rite (in business point of view .. that is ...)

I have no idea if their items are moving; however, you asked for feedback and I was pointing out that their little golfers were very realistic and a terrific buy at $19.95 for all 3! I have a decorative little golfer, about 5" tall, that I carry along to my book-signings and he sits on a table next to me. He is plumb-bobbing in a crouched position, sighting with his putter, and is very accurate. Most golfers that plumb-bob normally use a standing position first, then move to a crouched plumb-bob to verify their line of putt. You asked for feedback on Drain-O, so I was providing you with info to help with your pricing.

I misunderstood your question about the figures "moving." Thought you meant, were their figures selling I don't believe their figures have moving parts like Drain-O; however, one of the decorative items is a golf power cart, so if I had to guess, I would say the four tires/wheels probably turn.
