I remember a post in this forum, around 4/5 month ago, in wich someone and I was asking you about using a line printed on the ball tou make easier the procedure of targeting/alignment.
The problem we were having was that the look from over the ball was sort of different from that taken from behind, and the resulting doubt was affecting our performance.
From that time I've worked very hard at putting and not so long ago, after having tryied other kind of procedure (including finding the dimple..., but, yes I'm fool, I fell that an entire dimple is too big to have precise direction control, I know, it's psychological), eventually I switched back to the line. I was amazed.
Probably in this months I've perfected posture on the ball, specially eyes position and head turning for aiming, and the result is that now, when I'm on the ball, line orientation is perfect and I even see the putt line better!
I want to thank you once more for the progress I've obtained and I'd like to list what I think are most important lessons I've/am learned/ing from your instructions (these are the keys!):
1. Using left shoulder (this is great, I told this to a friend, and now, every time we are on the putting green he tells me "how I was supposed to use right shoulder/arm for putting?")
2. Head still and eye position (this is someting everyone knows, but nobody really does, but for short putts is everything)
3. Distance control trough rhythm (if you are concerned with controlling the pace for a long putt, count one potato...two while putting, and you are at 5 inches from the hole, if not into
I think these 3 factors and a sound routine that include precise targeting references (like using the line on the ball) are everything someone needs to putt quite well.
