The process of golfers marking their golf ball for better alignment has really caught on fire the last few years and I think it's a fine idea and I know some Tour pro's also use this system. Most golfers use the system properly, but on occasion, some golfers take a little too much time aligning...yesterday I played with a fellow that pretty much drove the rest of us in the foursome crazy! He had his line marked properly around the circumference of his ball and would set his ball down carefully in front of his ball mark leaving his ball mark in place behind his ball and would then get up and walk back and look at his alignment. He would then walk back to his ball, bend over and turn his ball ever so slightly making a correction to his alignment...he would do this routine about 3 times, still leaving his ball mark in place behind his ball. After his 3rd correction, he would then flick his marker out from behind his ball with his middle finger being careful not to move his ball!!! His method was driving everyone crazy, to say the least! I didn't know the fellow personally and didn't have the heart to tell him he was slowing play considerably.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Maybe the manufacturer of these ball marking tools have a responsibility to print the proper use of alignment and time necessary for alignment on their packaging or do they already? |
