A1 Series Heavy Putter...the A Series is a blade style...just recently heard about this putter which supposedly debuted back in January 2005. It weighs approximately 2 pounds...the heaviest among USGA conforming putters, almost twice as heavy as conventional putters! The putter interests me...found it at The World of Golf website. It's a very nice looking putter, but was wondering if you have seen it or demoed it? Their B Series Heavy Putter is a mallet-style. The blade-style reminds me a little of Chuck Todd's American Putter. I'll try to find out where I might demo the A1 locally, but in the meanwhile if you have any info on it, that would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Larry

Why does it interest you?

Larry,

I was wondering why this putter interests you. I am intrigued with it as well!!!

I tried one at a local golf shop and hit a few putts. It seemed that it was much easier to swing. There was no quick/jerky pull backs that I tend to have. My tempo seemed much better. It was real smooth. In your opinion (or anyone else reading this), is there any real vaule to these heavier putters.

Thanks much for your response about this putter. Sounds as if you putted very well with it. I'm like the surfer touring the world in search of the "perfect" wave, only I'm in search of the "perfect" putter. )) I was on another golf website message board and noticed that under one of the posters' profile that his putter was one of these A1 Series heavy putters, so did a little research on it and found a photo. What really intrigued me about it was the design...very sharp in my opinion! My instinct was that it just looked like it might putt well...strictly a hunch. I emailed the golfer and he was quite happy with it. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the heavier putters including the mallet-style putters, although I have experimented with a number of them and there are some that putt very well! If someone putts well with the mallet-style, I say stay with it, but experiment with new designs once in a while. I'm just a fan of the blade putter. Again, the A1 putter intrigues me and I'll look around locally and try to find one to test.
Maybe Geoff will have some info on it?
Thanks again for your response.
