Geoff,
In the world of golf, there are plenty of theories as to the best way to play, the best way to approach the game, the best way to learn, and so on and so forth.
The same can be said for putting.
I believe that there are some aspects, for instance the speed of the rolling ball as it approaches the hole, that are more factual than opinion based, although I'm sure that there will still be arguments!
So what is the best capture speed?
I believe that the answer is two revolutions per second as the ball approaches the edge of the hole, or what I describe to my students as falling speed. This allows for excellent capture speed, as per gravity, as well as a decent margin for human error for being short or long.
What do you, and others, think about this assertion? |
