Geoff
I have been trying to push the putter back using my shoulder to make backswing,, works fine, the other day all of a sudden i felt like it was more in my back and stomach( maybe the obliques) that was initiating the backstroke as well as the downstroke, it seemed to be more solid what are your thoughts on this... Thanks for taking the time to answer all these questions!!!

Exactly Right!`

Dear Lee,

That's exactly right! Combine that with management of the top of your torso in the shoulder frame and the base of the neck (throat line may open slightly in backstroke and then reclose to original square orientation at bottom / center of stroke), but never sway or wander target-ward past square in the thru-stroke. keep the feeling in the mid-torso smooth and non-violent and casual.

Cheers!
