Popups and Ads on Forum

Geoff ... why is Network 54 pushing those pop-up full screen ad pages across the forum???

I was being continually returned to the ad pages 3 or 4 times, even after I hit the 'skip' button ... and couldn't access the forum. Finally it let me through.

Thanks ....

I agree, the pop ups are getting bad. Can't stop them even using the anti-popup feature!

Yes, Network 54 Must Go

I agree totally. I have to transfer all these posts to another forum host and get rid of this Network 54 junk.

Geoff ... what would it cost to have an ad-free forum with Network 54 Premier Service?

What would be involved other than additional cost to you?

Many thanks for your comments! For quite some time now, I've had a multitude of problems with getting logged into the forum as well as tons of pop-up ads. It has been truly getting worse...hope Geoff gets it corrected.

Geoff, as soon as I made my last post, Network 54 included an ad inside my post about "Men of '08"...makes it look like the poster is promoting the ad! Then a huge pop-up ad about a "Love Compatibility Calculator" that filled the entire computer screen! Not sure what's going on?

It also would be nice if there was an "edit" feature. Sometimes we'd like to revise/edit a "foot in the mouth" comment.

No, not my ad, but was hoping it wouldn't stay with my post. And, when I see those, I wonder how those folks include their little ad within their post? Evidently, they only appear until the next person posts...I haven't figured it out yet.

The ability to edit posts already exists. I think that you have to be 'logged in' while viewing your own post to see the 'edit' option.

I've never seen an "edit" feature and I've been posting here for a number of years. Oops, I just got another interactive male ad with my latest post...guess I just luck out getting that "Males of '08 ad." Where's the "Females of '08" ad? Geeze, got to get back to chatting about golf.

Upgrade to Stop Ads and Popups

March 19 2008, 6:47 AM

I upgraded the forum to stop ads and popups -- sort of a "protection racket" I guess. Let me know if the popups or ads continue. So long as there are fewer than 100,000 visits per month, supposedly no ads or popups.

Cheers!
