Golf Smarter Tips Q: Short Putts Targeting and Pace

Question: Short Putts- 3-5 feet

I have 2 issues with how best to approach these putts. I find I too often miss-target a short putt (1) and have a hard time with the minimum movement need to get to the correct drop speed (2). What is the best way to approach these putts given these symptoms? Despite working hard on keeping a good swing tempo, I find the minimum shoulder/arm movement needed for the short putt has more of a tendency to take the club face off square and away from a straight down and forward line than a 6 foot plus putt. I also noticeably target these incorrectly by a larger percentage (line error) than those 6 foot plus putts.
