Hi,

Just wondering if you think the right arm/forearm should be behind and in line (same plane) as the shaft?

Symmetry of Setup

February 13 2009, 3:06 AM

Dear bgolfing,

My personal preference is for simple symmetry. My body faces the ball so that joints pairs are offset from the target line parallel, especially the shoulders, and my grip on the putter handle features both hands about the same distance down (the center of the right hand is perhaps 1/2 inch lower than the left hand center), so the shoulder frame is level with the ground and not tilted lead shoulder up or down as with most setups. My arms and hands hang naturally in gravity. The end result is that both arms are oriented about the same as seen looking down the line from behind the golfer.

I think this Crenshaw photo shows symmetry of the arms:

Cheers!
