i am having a problem with my short putts, i am ok with 6ft and out, but when i get closer to the hole i seem to push or pull putts. i have worked on a few things and none seem to work, i try to move the ball up in my stance/move back. try to choke down on the putter. any help would be great
I see this post has not been answered after having been posted for quite some time. Your comment that you are OK from 6 feet out seems to contain the answer. What are you changing when trying to make shorter putts? My guess is that you are trying to control the putter head rather than just letting it fall through like you do on longer putts. That is where I would look. Have fun. Jack
Another thing about short putts, especially in later in the day...many folks have walked around the hole and have created a "moat" so-to-speak...you really need to be firm with closer putts to overcome the footprints close to the hole. Other than that, you may be misreading your line of putt. Geoff will have some good thoughts on your dilemma.
