Not sure who the author is....http://www.postcourier.com.pg/weekendcourier/wchome.htm

You know, Papua New Guinean men are probably the most beautiful men in the world. I mean, theyre sexy and hot and oh my god! they dont even have to try! We have maybe some of the worlds most beautiful male species.
And Im not talking about those mixed-raced, look-at-me, Ricky Martin look-alikes, or those brothers who talk like American gangsters and dress like the Back Street Boys, Im talking about our pure-bred, home-grown PNG men!
Yes, Im talking about you! You who always takes the bus to work, who has the time to stop and chat to that mama at the buai market and always has a spare K1 to shout a mate a smoke.
Our men dont need to spend hours in the gym, working on their abs and keeping fit, they dont need it. Most PNG men are naturally built like Greek gods, yes exactlyGreek gods! Chiselled features with skin the colour of mocha, we only need to look back home in our villages to see them.
Years of working in the gardens, lifting that heavy bag of copra or cocoa, muscles come naturally to our men.
It is a sight to behold a group of them at the copra shed, with sweat dripping off their shirtless abs, you just have to be there to know what Im talking about. Our traditional diet of root crops, fruits and vegetables is all they need to keep healthy and looking sexy.
Where other men walk treadmills in expensive gyms to keep fit, our men walk miles in the burning sun or pouring rain to their gardens or to a tribal meeting.
Where other men spend thousands of kina on a pool to go swimming, our men go diving in vast oceans to bring back the days protein. Where other men spend millions on materials to build a mansion, our men build their homes from raw materials from the forests, from trees and palms that were planted by our forefathers at no cost at all.
And when it comes to looks, of course, us ladies must admit that we do look for that in a guy, from the islands to the highlands, they come in different shapes and sizes, but there is always that spark about them, there is always that special something that makes them truly Papua New Guinean.
And that special something can be found in the way that he can call you darling in two or three different local languages, or that he can walk for miles in the dead of night just to come over to your house and say goodnight, ahemumm....trupla man! Or that he can walk the streets at 1 in the morning looking for buai or smoke for you since you cant sleep without having a last chew.
Even his compliments to you, maybe sometimes said in parables, can easily be deciphered if youve ever been to Mars (men are from Mars, women are from Venus) PNG men are gorgeous, and the beauty of it is, most of them dont even realise it. Say for instance, that cab driver who picks you up for that short drive to Boroko. Now that is a man who god had spent a little more time on. With his mouth red from chewing buai, he has a smile that can light up a dark night, melon teeth and all. He quickly starts up a conversation with you about anything and everything, never finding something to say. You just have to look beyond all the rough edges to get a glimpse of what our men are really like.
Or that spunky young man who sells buai at your nearest buai stall. Yes, that one who always manages a smile for you each time you pass by his stall, always has a morning sista, or goodnight or calls out: Sister wanpla buai ya! As the saying goes, pasin kilim ol.
Highlands men for example, are most times classified as the violent types (I must admit this is mostly from the coastal womans perspective, Highlands women will never say their men are violent). But if you look beyond their cultural history of tribal fights and bloody warfare, deep down, they are just as loving as the next guy. And the thing that most of us dont realise is that they actually have a high respect for women.
And Tolai men! My goodness, where else in the world can you find black men who are naturally blonde? Dont you just love it when they come out with their whip dancing and Tumbuans? They just make those red laplaps look so sexy, Tolai men look good in red, Ill say! And we dont wanna talk about the Trobriands and their loin cloths!
PNG men rock! they are drop-dead gorgeous with beautiful personalities that are so hard to come by in this world. Why do some women have to travel halfway across the globe to find a man who can make them happy? All we have to do is look in our backyard.
A true son of PNG knows how to carry himself, he oozes with confidence. Our men have culture, tradition and hold in high regard our customs. For without our customs and traditions, we have no identity. And a man with identity is a man of substance, a man who is respected, trusted and a man who knows where he comes from and where hes going.
