WHY WE WATCH
Last night we were again treated to a heart-stopping 180 minutes of
John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. It reminds us once again why we are here in this thread, why we willingly forego weeknight gimik with friends (bestfriends are another matter; boyfriends too but that is an irrelevant entity to me); why we spend a considerable part of our hard-earned miniscule income (in my case, at least) keeping ourselves updated with their goings-on; why we stay up most of the night and some part of the early morning discussing them to eternity tackling possible answers to the question, “What the hell happened?”. Last night the answer was laid before us.
We watch because they just look good together. We watch because sparks fly. We watch because for a brief few moments, we forget about the real world and they take us to where they intend to take us even without our consent. We watch because they’re so damn good. We watch because we get hypnotized by the characters they play on television. We watch because they burrow their way to where our deepest feelings lie and touch us. We watch because they make us laugh. We watch because they make us cry. We watch because they make us care. This is how we all started to watch. This is how we all started to get glued on
.Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay, It Might be You, Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin. And now the cycle starts all over again with
Maging Sino Ka Man. Weeknights right after Super Inggo.
As if we need any reminder.
