I have zeroed on physics and chemistry or physics and geography but i am not sure. It will be very kind of you if you could suggest me the optionals and its viability.

Is management a scoring subject ??? as i am an mba graduate i want to take it as one of my optionals...but i am bit apprehensive as i am not sure of the availability of the study material and there is not much information available on net ......do help me to get out of this dilemma...
Sir/Madam,
I am a Banking professional working in State Bank of India.I am planning to sit for IAS 2010 exam and have chosen Commerce and Economics as my optional.I have chosen these sbjects as I am from Commerce background and Economics was one of my subjects in Graduation.Although I have never scored more than 55% in my graduation, I am choosing these subjects because I have interest in these two optionals and also these optionals have straight fact based questions and answers in comparison to Humanities subjects which are opinion based and also requires a good deal of writing skill.I found myself uncomfortable with the past 5-7 years questions papers of Humanities which were purely opinion based.Considering all these I have chosen Commerce and Economics as my optionals.I want to know whether these combinations are gopd from scoring point of view?
Second thing, a week ahead I had gone through an article stating that UPSC has proposed a change in IAS examination 2010 and these will take effect from 2010 edition itself. Now I am in dilemma that how should I approach my preparation because as per the proposed structure there will be one aptitude test in place of Prelims exam and there will be only humanity subjects(8 subjects including Indian Economics) in Mains examination. All other subjects wil be done away in order to have a parity among all the successful candidates. Now I want to request you if you have any such confirmation of change in pattern please mail it to me with full details.
