solution

first of all i would love to know your interests.the later i can suggest you that since you are from a engineering stream you can take mathematics as one of your optional.secondry you may opt for any subject from the following

choosing optionals

by

respected sir/madam i am currently pursueing my engineering in electronics and communication.i have decided to take up ias as my career.since i am from engineering background i want to take up physics and electrical engineering as my optionals.i can manage with physics.i am in doubt that electrical engineering as a subject is very vast.it is very difficult to master it and score good marks in upsc inspite of having the same background.i find few topics are easy and many topics are tough.could please you suggest me what i should do.take up.electrical engineering as an optionals or a theory subject like public administration.i tink public administration is easy to study than electrical engineering.also there are very very institutes which offer coaching for electrical engineering.

Some advice on books please..

by

Sir,
I am a Graduate in chemistry. I am currently doing my Post graduation in Hydrochemistry and planning to appear for the CSE 2009. Could you please help me with my GS preparation. I am totally lost with it and have no idea as to how to go about preparing the wide syllabus. Could you also tell me what are the topics or subjects to be given priority while preparing for prelims and mains respectively? And what books are to be followed?
I would greatly appreciate good advice on the matter.
Thanking you.
Yours faithfully,
Elizabeth Lawrence.
