| Hidden stars and other dilemasOctober 26 2009 at 8:22 AM | Steerpike(was someone else a long time ago..) | |
|
A breath that catches
And is held in the nowhere-place
Between body
And space.
Fading like memories
And chalk-drawings
And the last notes of a beautiful song
That I can't quite recall.
And even if I could breathe out,
What would my little bit of wispy vapour
Add to the clouds pressing down?
Sometimes I can only see the clouds,
And I forget that stars dance behind.
She was the night I couldn't sleep.
(Couldn't sleep, but still I dreamed.)
She was the ache I couldn't numb.
She was everything and nothing.
She made me smile.
She made me.
Some nights,
I don't think the clouds conceal the stars.
I think the stars hide themselves away.
And now the ache has eased
And sleep eases it's way into my bed,
I'm not sure whether to blame her
Or thank her.
(exhale)
