Are you talking about the exacts I read so many to shoot and really like or others like the Predators??? Now I have not got anything more done than just gathering of parts as of yet for my Condor frame into the SS, so I can't say that I have shot the Predators from a 12" barrel just yet, but for the weight of those little suckers they are really great shooters from 24" Condor I have shot them from...
You know I have read the threads of where some guys didn't care for the PD's with how they were a little finicky to load in straight and could cause them to not shoot as consistant. I wonder how the guys with these in the rifles that use a magazine have seen them. The way the bolt would slide through the magazine pushing them into the chamber?
I know I saw someone mention why they couldn't just make the PD's a little longer and maybe even bring the weight of them into the 35 grain area and Nick mentioned they would not be able to load these from the magazines if they did and the majority of the customers wanted them to be able to load from a magazine... It would be real interesting to shoot a longer one also to see the differences.
I think it would be real interesting to see what this PD would be like if you affixed the little red ballistic tips to them also. Maybe lightly etch a few even cross cuts in the pellets nose area right behind the ballistic tip and then on impact the hard plastic tip would help start the pellet to peel and expand open. I know it would be a longer pellet from its present size though and those with the magazines would be out of luck using them.
I sure hope to get some of the PD's ordered today if Nick not out of pocket. I have been wanting to shoot some of these and mess around with them a little. Heck I am all for some more of the XP's also. I liked how they shot really. I sure like how they impacted the intended target. So when I do get to visit with Sir Nick, I will be asking about some of those as well.
I know with my Condor at its present setup I can't bring the power down on her anymore with the adjustable preload all the way to zero. I do feel I may need to soften this up somewhat and get some room to come down a little, sure would be nice to be able to shoot the lighter weight Predators and not have them super sonic on me.
I have no idea what speed they shoot at right now and I may try to check that today later. I just know I have no problem parking the EJ's at 1050-1080 fps and that is set at zero on the preload adjustment. I really want to get after a new valve stem with the rifled discharge of air from it. I am in need of better equipment to do so than what I have right now though.
