Response to Re: LOL

I have my Dads old shop smith that I had made a few things with after making a cross slide vice fit up on the rail system of it. The problem with that was it didn't have a tight enough shaft assembly leaving way too much slack for working with metal like this.

So I have resorted back to clamping a drill up to a big fab table of mine and using that and whatever it takes to cut the metal at hand to shape. Just trying to get good sharp 90 degree edges and more importantly a concentric cut on things is the hard part. This part here I used a file and a hacksaw blade holder. Its close but close enough and I will have to do something else.

I got a flyer in just this past week from Harbor Freight that had there 7X10 lathe on sale, went to their web site and it doesn't show that price either, but this flyer said its good through the jan. 2nd... It has the lathe for 369.99 its the stock#93212.

Its not what I want to get, but for that kind of price it sure has me looking at it... It would do this sort of simple stuff much better than my drill and flies and hacksaw blade LOL...
