I just returned from a very good hunt this morning using the XP's in my Career III 300. I went out for feral goats around 35 lbs. At sunrise I spotted 2 groups with about 10-14 in each group. I set up 30 yrds from their trail & after about 30 mins I heard them coming through. I let the 1st 7 pass as they were too large. The 8th & 9th were just the right size. I let # 9 get to 27 yrds, released the safety & waited for a good shot. WOW! all I can say is the XP & this rifle dropped the goat in it's tracks! I placed the shot were it needed to be & the XP did the rest. The entry wound was very clean but upon looking on the exit side, "holy crap" is all I said. At that range the XP upon impact expanded to almost double it's size & blew a hole about a 1/2" on the exit side. The fragments of the pellet were stuck in the bone @ the exit wound. Very impressive. The 28 & 32 grn Eun Jin normally pass through leaving a small wound channel & exit wound. The ligher XP's did a lot more damage & made a much larger exit wound.
I will turn the power down on the next hunt a bit(to 3/4 max power.) At full power(2 click from max) my Career III 300 shot the XP @ 1031, 1021, 2018, 1023, 1014, 1009 for the 1st 6 shot magazine. I had it at max power because I hadn't used them before & hadn't used anything lighter than 28 grn on goat before. Also they fit loose in the Korean barrel. Tomorrow I'll be testing them on mongoose @ up to 60 yrds to see how they perform and this weekend on turkeys @ 30 yrds. I'll post the results on Sunday.
