This is in fact a now dated project that we started probably 4 years ago? In its A2 earliest format it was a 16gr flat base projectile. In its final variant as the A6 its a 30gr full RBT design. The airgun variants where worked up from THV type designs first fielded for centrefire handguns in the late 80's. The THV was unique in that the reverse ogive nose shape and material made the rounds armour piercing on anything solid yet they stopped dead in anything animate. The result was a veryy light, high velocity projectile that would defeat armour yet not overpenetrate on "live" targets. The downside was for the american market, that you couldn't wear soft armour that would defeat it.

Copper is a good medium for precision turning bullets as is COLPHOS90. Both are soft enough for barrels and indeed are the choice of all the major ammo manufacturers for precision monolthic slugs. You cannot accurately turn lead and it lends itself really only to casting and swaging. This profile is a precision item and has angles that again dont lend to casting or swaging. It is accurate in a correct dimensioned barrel and the terminal effects are quite incredible ,when pushed hard. It is not however commercially feasible or desireable to manufacture this round.
