Which is more reliable? EWCM or OPK?

I've been wondering about this. I get EWCM around CD14 (a big blob tinged with blood) but a positive OPK does not appear until CD16-17 - at which stage there is little (but some) EWCM? I have been bedding CD14 anyway but was just wondering. I used to get positive OPKs on about CD12 and 28 day cycles. Now my cycles are more like 25 days.

Any thought from those in the know?
