I really don't know, Orchid. I can only share my experience. I am 41.5. I am with Harvard Pilgrim. We did IUI last May, then another - both unsuccessful. Then a 3rd IUI in late summer - BFP - but m/c'd at 7 weeks. Then another IUI in late November that was not successful. Needed 3 IUI's to proceed with IVF with Harvard Pilgrim. We threw the 4th one in there at the last minute so as to not miss a month.
Got approved for IVF, my RE's office handled everything. I turned 41 in December. We did BCP's in December/January, then IVF in late January on a MDL protocol.
My FSH was previously over 15, but I had shingles at the time, which we were all quite sure affected it. But then did CCCT and it came in around 10. My E2 was right at the Harvard Pilgrim limit of 75. I think it was 72 or 74, that was the scarier number for me for insurance. But thank goodness I "passed" it for insurance.
Harvard Pilgrim has been great with me. I'm on an 80/20 situation, so IVF cost about $2,000 and drugs, with co-pays, probably a few hundred dollars. Not sure if that helps at all. I know at age 42, it will probably all come to a screeching halt if we try again for a second. (We are 18 weeks pregnant with our first from IVF.)
Also, I think chapter2 or someone posted ALL of HP's requirements, so you may want to do a search. Maybe 2-3 months ago.
GOOD LUCK! I know how challenging it is to navigate these waters. Another idea, if you have a good RE and good insurance person there, talk to them, they know the regs inside and out. For each and every insurance company. Use them as a resource. |
