IUI vs. IVF

I know doubleL doesn't post here anymore, but wondering if anyone knows why she did all those IVFs instead of IUIs.

Before I call it quits, I'm thinking of going back to a few IUIs after the hyperbaric treatments and cleansing since I was able to get fertilization without ICSI for the past 2 IVFs I did this spring. I'm now 46 years young (I know, how pathetic to say that!), so only a few more tries left in this old bird.

I'm using donor sperm and am wondering whether maybe it does live longer than Check said since I had 2 embies with late fertilizations and the embryologist said sperm was still visibly living and "swarming the eggs" 2 days past retrieval. However, I'm not dismissing that I may have hostile CM that zaps it quick. Ayy, conundrum (!): IUI that's cheaper but perhaps no chance vs. IVF that's more invasive and a complete pain to go through w/travel, etc. Any way to get over hostile CM?

TIA! Happy 4th to all who celebrate!
