I am reading it right now, and it seems like at 5% protein diet, cancer can be turned off, reliably. I heard of his book from a few vegan friends who turned vegan because they have a family history of cancer, so they try to proactively nip it in the bud through diet changes.
However, I don't think it is a good idea to go vegan during treatment, because body needs more energy and nutrition to fight. The idea behind vegan is starving the growth of all cells. Words have it that Steve Jobs went on vegan diet before agreeing to surgery. I personally think vegan diet is good at prevention, not for curing or reversing cancer.
