| thanks for all the great replies and suggestions.
it was my ob who tested me for group b strep, 4 years ago. neither she nor my RE will prescribe because they think its BS and they think whatever i zap with AB will just come back stronger later. maybe. but t oth wants a second round of a different AB, then if preg more ABs on and off the whole pregnancy (10 days on, 2 months off). his protocol is to start with doxycycline for 3 weeks, then switch to clindamycin for 2 weeks. but he is a little loose with it and tosses out the names of various ABs - flagyl, amoxicillin, erythromycin, etc. he almost makes it sound like it doesn't really matter. he gave me a slightly different cocktail last time. anyway, i can try my GP, but i highly doubt she'll do it either. to complicate the matter, i need the scrip for DH, too, since whatever i have, he likely has, too.
great idea about trying an osteopath. and a na pro doc. the na pro angle might be a good one, since i'm also keen to try LDN. might be able to get both from the same source. i just don't know what going na pro entails. will have to research that...
a naturopath is another good idea i will look into. thanks. i've thought about trying to get tested again from my regular docs for chlamydia, but either i don't have it or their tests aren't sensitive enough to find it. i've always tested negative in the past. but you're right i should get on probiotics generally, and especially if i can find my way to the ABs.
i really appreciate the support! |
