I SWEAR that book (and Dr. Check) made me realize my dreams (children ment.)April 16 2012 at 11:17 PM

Response to I learned a lot from that book too...
I was a long timer on the boards (almost 3.5 years) and a patient of Dr. Check's. A board buddy, who knew I was on Paxil (SSRI) called me one day from the bookstore. She was a big TCOYF fan...me not so much. DH and I were thisclose to going towards DE or quitting entirely. I was getting so depressed (even WITH the Paxil).
Anyhoo, she called me one afternoon and reported that TCOYF questioned SSRI's for their effect on cervical mucous. I never had any and figured I had tried everything else (3 IVF's, bunch of IUI's etc.) so why not give it a shot. I quit the Paxil cold turkey (NOT so much fun to say the least!, within 3 weeks I had a ton of CM and I was pregnant from an IUI @ 2 cyles later (technically the first 'clean' cycle I had!)
Who knows if that's what did it, but it was certainly ironic and I will be grateful to TCOYF and THIS BOARD forever!
After I was pregnant with DD, I did resume Paxil (as I was feeling nuttier than a fruitcake) but at a MUCH lower dose and was able to conceive and deliver DS.
I eventually went off the Paxil and onto Zoloft which 'feels' like a better choice.
For me, it took a 'village' to conceive!
