LadyG used a protocol where the direct testosterone gel was used during the FP of the prior cycle. Although, she did use menopur and clomid earlier on in her stim cycle. Clomid causes the release of FSH and LH I thought?? Lots of woman seem to get lucky on minimal stim protocol using clomid?

And, of course, the menopur has LH, so not sure what to believe at this point. So confusing. Although LadyG used small dose of dexamethasone which blocks LH from being released??

Still confused. My RE has me taking only FSH during the first couple to few days of stims then adding in 150iu LH by Luveris. Think we are avoiding Menopur, my guess is because I have tried it before with no luck and for immune issues (not that I've been diagnosed with anything) since menopur is derived from humans and not synthetic. So my RE is in the camp maybe less LH early on is helpful to older eggs.

Also, don't forget older women produce higher levels of LH on their own. I know if take opk tests on day 5 of my cycle, I can some times get a very faint line on the test, probably when it should be blank.

We can all drive ourselves crazy working through the angles, but I just think it comes down to dumb luck sometimes, with a little good egg batch and good enough protocol mixed in.
