| Hey guys, I'm noticing an immune theme in recent posts and I wanted to say that its a good idea to lay off/defer getting any vaccinations while you're ttc and esp if you have a bfp. There is a strong correlation that they can induce miscarriages/spontaneous ab. There are numerous reports on women who've had unexplained miscarriages or have had miscarriages linked to an undiagnosed uterine infection- and when further investigated, they revealed having recently received a vaccine within three months prior to miscarriage. Many drs do not make this connection. However in those that do, its thought that vaccinations can possibly super sensitize the woman's immune system and/or that the antigen given can somehow link itself to the fetus causing an immune reaction.
Just something to think about if you're planning your flu shot, filling a work requirement or visiting another country.
This is not to say vaccinations are bad or should be totally avoided, but rather, postponed/delayed as far into the preg as poss or taken 6+mos prior ttc. |
