My DH did not want to go see an RE when I was almost 43 years old. He thought I was perfectly healthy and we could get pregnant naturally. He actually thought we had plenty of time. He also did not want to spend the money. The initial testing alone was about $1,500 all out of pocket. I think it is just fear and wishful thinking and lack of knowledge. If pregnancy doesn't happen by accident then someone has to be the driving force to make it all happen and jump through the hoops. I think it is usually the woman. I waited for my DH to step up to the plate and get excited to try and have a baby and it never happened. So I had to get the ball rolling and push the ball up the hill by myself.
Do you really want to marry this man or be in a committed relationship with him and have a child with him? I have come to find out that if a woman has a baby she should always have a backup plan that she may be doing it on her own anyways.
