they only told us because we called them to discuss CCS and were trying to decide if we would still go ahead with it if we only had 1-2 blasts, vs. freezing and testing a bigger batch in a future cycle (which they will only do by frezing day 3 embies, then thawing them and letting them grow to blast with the embies from a future cycle). CCS is not cheap and we didn't fancy spending 7k lightly. So because the 7 are still growing on day 3, we hedged and agreed to biopsy whatever makes it to blast, so still might be only 1-2 embies in the end. If we had only had a few embies still growing today, we would have frozen them today and tested them in a future cycle. so many decisions. |

makes so much sense! I would be greedy and just transfer the whole lot at my age on day 3-lol!
So glad you made 7 to day 3!! Told you you'd be surprised!! |

about this. What was your age when you did the day 3 transfer and were they from the same cycle of different ones (did you freeze a bunch from the same cycle or were DD/DS from the same cycle, are they twins?) |

no, they are not twins, protocols were similar low stim, no fet, I was 42 with DS and 44 with DD. |

how many rounds of the mini-stim did you have to do to get the pregnancies each time?
The last pregnancy how old were you when you conceived - 43 or 44? Thanks again for the info. I've been debating asking for lovenox and prednisone prophylactically. |

I will ask my RE about the predisone and lovenox. I got tested last week by my GYN b/c I told her about doing IVF - and the MTHFR came back negative. I still think being older impacts circulation. There was a woman 43-44'ish that had a natural BFP on another board but m/c in the first tri. The testing of the fetus after the D&C showed a normal baby but the GYN/OB thought her placenta was not functioning correctly - blood flow issues! Can you believe - a normal baby lost for no reason in my opinion. I may just insist to my RE especially if there is no harm.
Do you mind if I ask were you a patient of Dr. Ch.eck or what place? Thanks again! |

Kim (no login) | I just love Dr. CNo score for this post | May 11 2012, 7:05 AM |
He is the best RE I've known thus far! I would have stayed there if they did ZIFT but think my chances could be better for me transferring my fert. eggs earlier than day 3 and Dr. C does not do ZIFT anymore. It takes a more special surgical suite than they have set up.
I had my CP with one round of retrieval there, but something was tugging at me for trying the ZIFT. My new RE is great though too and willing to try new things. I just trusted Dr. C office b/c they were so competent. Always had answers for my questions -no matter what they were - even the nurses! You could tell they cared and rooted for everyone in their little ways - even if they were gruff sometimes. |
