Gereral vaccination warning (miscarr ment)

Hey guys, I'm noticing an immune theme in recent posts and I wanted to say that its a good idea to lay off/defer getting any vaccinations while you're ttc and esp if you have a bfp. There is a strong correlation that they can induce miscarriages/spontaneous ab. There are numerous reports on women who've had unexplained miscarriages or have had miscarriages linked to an undiagnosed uterine infection- and when further investigated, they revealed having recently received a vaccine within three months prior to miscarriage. Many drs do not make this connection. However in those that do, its thought that vaccinations can possibly super sensitize the woman's immune system and/or that the antigen given can somehow link itself to the fetus causing an immune reaction.

Just something to think about if you're planning your flu shot, filling a work requirement or visiting another country.

This is not to say vaccinations are bad or should be totally avoided, but rather, postponed/delayed as far into the preg as poss or taken 6+mos prior ttc.

My OB does the mercury free Flu shot BUT you have to be in the 2nd trimester for him to give it to you - supposedly its "safe" any time, but he just doesn't do it.

With known risk and skyrocketing malpractice insurance its wise for him to delay administering them for as long as possible.

For women using ART, why even risk it-after all the time, effort, and money you put into having a baby?

There is such growing fear these days, and rightfully so, of bombarding newborns with too many vaccinations over too short a period so early in life. It baffles me why so many pregnant women mindlessly get innoculations without having those same concerns for their unborn child. I'd absolutely question the necessity of exposing oneself to foreign materials during a particularly delicate disposition as being pregnant.

Again food for thought- LAF
