a hat!!! So far she made a scarf. I told her I don't knit so if she has a problem she has to consult the book! She has a book for kids. She's a smart girl and so far is doing a wonderful job. She taught herself to pearl from the book and made a schedule on microsoft excel so she knows what number of rows to do each day to meet her goal (yes, that's my daughter alright!)

I'm pretty proud of her, but not sure what'll happen if she gets stuck!

that how I learned to crochet, from a book and I practiced my various basics until I was comfortable enough to start a project and that was a scarf. Mermayd, you might want to follow your daughters example and start learning from the book even though its a kids book it still will give you the basics, that way it can be a mother daughter thing.

get over your dd!! Just to sit and have the patience to teach herself is something else, let alone understanding it! You're going to have to show us what she makes!

That's Great!

She'll have a lot of fun with it.  I taught myself to knit and crochet when I was a child.  Learned from books.
