Sunday and Monday were just gorgeous days here! I think today may be another nice day too! Summer has begun! It's been between 77-80 degrees here .... sooo nice! On Sunday I made a sugarless version of a cappuchino, since I bought my dh a chocolate cake and I needed something to distract me from the delicious looking cake. Anyway I had 2 cups of coffee/cappuchino and boy did I have a lot of energy!! I took the children in the back yard and we threw a baseball around ... but that wasn't enough! I told them to give me grounders and to throw the ball really high so I could show them how to catch those kinds of things ..heehee! Well I was feeling so good, I did that with them for an hour! Yesterday, I was SOO tired ..lol! I had to push myself really hard to cut the grass, and clean the house!
Today it's off to the grocery store to buy some more chicken ..lol! Well hopefully something will catch my eye besides chicken today!
Whats the weather like in your neck of the woods?
The children have 1 more day left of school. WoooHooo!

We had our van filled with antiques. We stopped at the store on the way to my parent's house. Came out, and someone had stolen our van and contents. Police doubt we will ever see the van or any of it again. I am so upset...

Lace that is terrible!!! I'm so, so sorry this has happened!! Unbelievable!!! Were your doors locked when you went into the store? How did they know your van was full of antiques? Lace, I have no words ... man, I'm upset for you!
Yep, all doors were locked. It has tinted windows, so is doutful they wanted it for the stuff in the van. It was a Dodge Van, and the police told us that they like to steal them, and take them to Detriot, to chop shops, and then sell all the parts. Guess the thieves lucked out and got a loaded van in the bargain. No word from police. Which means the van is in pieces by now. I don't think they tried really to find it. Took about 45 minutes for the police to even show up. Thanks for posting Daisy, and for caring.

I have had a car stolen before and I know that feeling to come out and go to where you "think" you parked your car and suddenly see an empty spot! I first thought I'd misplaced my car. It took me a few minutes to understand that someone had come along, in broad daylight, in the middle of the afternoon and taken my car!
They did find it eventually but there was nothing left but the VIN number and the frame. IT was stripped clean. The insurance paid something but I couldn't afford to replace my car - it wasn't enough - so I had to buy something smaller. It was frustrating and really upsetting.
AND, you had all those antiques in it!!!! Is it possible the store you were in or an adjacent store would have a security camera on the parking lot?
I'm so sorry to read this because I know how trying it is. Gawd, the nerve of some people! I just can't believe someone would do that.
I'm so sorry Lace. I hope somehow this all works out for the better..... sigh
It was at Petsmart. The police told my husband that they do not have cameras. I am already worried about what we will be able to afford van wise when the insurance pays out. The van was a 2003, that we had bought from my parents. My DH's job is paying a lot less these days, and I was trying to make a little extra money at tha sale to make ends meet.

but since most likely your insurance information and registration were in the glove box and likely your home address is on those items please make sure to lock your doors at home and use extra safety precautions.
I had a car accident once (a motorcycler who had been drinking ran a redlight and ended up on the hood of my car - fortunately I guess, the police said, because he was drunk he was not injured and I was okay) Anyway, at the scene of the accident my license "disappeared". I gave it to the police officer but never saw it again. A month later I had a "visitor" at my house. A peeping Tom. Never caught.
Also, shortly after that a phone call came with a man identifying himself as another police officer who said he found my license and wanted to bring it to my house. Of course I said 'no' called the local police and the police came over and said no officer would ever do that.
Anyway, it just worries me when your contact information falls into the wrong hands. It's probably nothing but I'd make sure to be a little extra cautious in the meantime. It doesn't hurt, right?
I really sympathize with your situation as the insurance never pays enough to replace the vehicle. You end up not only being a victim of the crime but also a financial victim. You've lost the contents of the car and will now have a debt you didn't have before and shouldn't have to incur. Grrrrrrr....I know when my car was stolen I remember thinking I didn't really want it back because Lord knows what went on in that car while it was gone! As I said before they found my car, it was a Honda Accord - another very desirable "hot" car, probably 4-6 weeks later, stripped and little left but the VIN number and the frame so that wasn't an issue.
I pray this somehow works out - that maybe there is a silver lining in here somewhere. It's such a violation!
I also had my purse stolen out of a grocery cart once. Almost in front of my eyes! Now, if I leave my purse for a second I always use the child safety strap, tighen that around the strap of my purse and put it in the bottom of the cart. I never got that back again.
Once I was at the beach loading the car and had put my purse on the ground and drove off without it (DUH). Half way home, about 10 minutes, I remembered it, turned the car around and went back. It was gone (I expected it). Anyway, that night a woman calls and says she found my purse. I was thrilled!! THEN she told me I could get it back and where to meet her. When I showed up the purse was sitting at the location (a store parking lot) in a cart, the woman was no where to be found and of course the money from my purse was missing. (and my nice, brand new make up!) BUT I was happy to get my identification back, my license and while I got the credit cards back I cancelled them anyway because someone could have stolen the numbers.
I wish people would remember this: THY SHALL NOT STEAL!
I did think of them having my address, and it scares me a lot! I am sorry such bad things have happened to you. Thanks for sharing with me.

That is horrible, oh my dear you lost it all! I am so so sorry. Your insurance will cover the van but there is no way you can replace the antiques no way! I am so so sorry. I hope the police catch those horrible people. I will pray for you.

I am so sorry. That is just awful and it doesn't sound as if the police are any help at all. Will the antiques also be covered by insurance or just the car? I don't know what it's like in the US but here our House and Contents insurance would cover the items in the car.
What a terrible thing to have happened. You really didn't need this. I wish I could help.
You be careful now especially with any unknown callers or people on the phone. There's nothing wrong with being cautious.

We have been told to try and claim it under our homeowners insurance. The police told my DH it will be a tough fight. I am nervous about being alone at home.

its very very hot here! we went from cold temps right into steaming hot temps. At 8 this morning it was 85 degrees and because of so much rain the humidity is just horrible, its really hard to breath when you go outside. Today the temps are to be in the mid 90's with a heat index of 110. It gets a little cooler at night but not by much, in the 80's, it is suppose to be like this through the weekend. They have posted heat advisories. I do hope this breaks soon, I feel really sorry for those that don't have air conditioning. I would love for the temps to be in the lower 80's with a cool breeze.
me to fix you one of my cappuchino's Tea ... heehee! .. I'll fix you up! That is HOT! Mann, almost too hot ..no? But here my dear friend it is very nice! Oh yes it is! We may have ccccold winters, but our summers are awesome!

Wow, that is VERY hot SM! Phew!!! It's hard to even move I bet! We would melt here if it was like that for very long. Seriously, we aren't use to that kind of heat! Maybe for 1 day but any longer then that, we couldn't function.

In Southern California we get what's called "June Gloom." I actually like it but when you live close to the beach as I do we get a lot of cloud cover in June. It will sometimes burn off by mid day but the mornings are fairly gray. I don't mind it a bit.
Our worst months for heat are often September and October. That's when it gets HOT HOT HOT and then we have to worry about the fires. Remember the fire photos from last year? Well, we've already had one fire, a smaller one, in that same area. Things grow fast in the winter when we have a little bit of rain and then after March, no rain, so it all dries out by mid summer and by the fall it all catches fire and burns...the cycle goes over and over.
I'm relieved it hasn't been too hot. I have terrible hot flashes these days so I appreciate the cooler days. I dread the heat. I used to love it but as I get older I find it less tolerable.
I think we're having one of our coldest winters in a long time. A few weeks ago we had the coldest recorded night for June since they started keeping records. My granddaughter chose that week to make her entrance! She's so tiny that we've had to go out and buy a lot of premmie clothes so that she would have something close-fitting around her body to keep her warm. She just swam in the newborn sizes!
