Just wanted to say we are home again after 2 wonderful weeks in Kaunas. It far exceeded our expectations. The welcome, hospitality and help was beyond words.
We visited Williams family village, saw where the family farm stood and took soil from the graves here and left it in the graves at Luksiai, so we feel that in some way we have taken them home at last!
We knew that we had the right branch of the family as soon as we saw them and also the pictures on gravestones confirmed it. We still have a long way to go with our search and getting more precise details, hopefully the request we left at Vilnius archives will help with that, but to all those searching, never, ever give up, you may not get all the answers you want, but we found that one or two was enough to be going on with.
