Thought I'd let you know that the parish priest at Blantyre has invited me next week to go along and have a look through the Baptismal Records. I'm so excited as I explained to him that there's a possibility he mis-read one of the names on my relations certificate and this is the only one with a Lithuanian surname on it as a Godparent, all the other children have Scottish relations as Godparents. Also I'm hoping to find my grandfather's first born in the records, the priest couldn't find it under my grandfather's surname, but I remembered later that Joseph was born out of wedlock (1914) my grandparents didn't marry till 1915, so hopefully he will have been baptised. Due to family lore, I've been told that my grandfather had a falling out with the church as they refused to baptise one of the children, and i can only imagine it would be Joseph. If there is a possibility that he did get baptised under my grandmothers maiden name, then there's a possibility there may have been a Lithuanian godparent on that one too.
