One of the given name spellings you have for your grandfather's given name almost looks like a Latin spelling. Is it from a church marriage register?
Kazimieras would have been the Lithuanian given name spelling. Many immigrants had Kazimieras morph into Charles even though the English translation would have yielded Casimir.
The reference to Kaunas is likely to the Kaunas/Kowno/Kovna gubernia (Russian for province) rather than to the city of Kaunas which would have been the provincial capital.
Can you tell us what the source documents you used to get these names?
Which U.S. censuses have you found them in to date? What other records do you have on them that might help members of the group to do further research to aid your search?
