they're going to try to paint him as a troubled soul, wrought with anxiety over his country's unjust and illegal (started by George Bush) wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. And unfortunately the world's-most-peaceful-religion wasn't enough to bring him back from the brink.

His attempts to contact AlQaeda were smply his attempt to reinforce the teachings of the world's-most-peaceful-religion with them, and guide them on a more spiritual solution to dealing with the worldwide oppression of Muslims.

it's also American society's fault that he has such easy access to guns (even though he was on a... miliatry base)
