BOSTON The highest court in Massachusetts ruled against U.S. Bancorp and Wells Fargo & Co. Friday in a widely watched mortgage foreclosure case that could have serious implications for the nation's largest banks.
The judges clearly accepted that the 'owners' had defaulted, but ruled that the mortgage companies had to PROVE THEY OWNED THE MORTGAGES. Just more regulations, this time by the courts, to make it more expensive to borrow and a higher risk for lending. Yep, sounds like a plan... |
