Response to Fear of God

Your faith is based on fear. You can scare a lot of people into doing things they would otherwise not do by threatening them with death and destruction. That is how terrorists work. I should "want" to believe, not be "forced" into believing. We have a lot of problems in our society today because kids are brought up to fear their parents, not love them.

All you have offered in all the biblical quotes is proof that fear is the motivator. That being said I can still believe in a god or supreme being that orchestrated the beginning of time and still believe in evolution. The two are not mutually exclusive. The Bible is a story written when man knew very little about the world in which he lived. No one at the time of Genesis could understand about quantum mechanics, or black holes, or anything of what it took for life to exist, so these things were told to the people in simple stories. Man has the ability to question all that is around him. That is why we have the amazing scientific discoveries, that over time teach us about the world, the universe and who or what created it all.

Many today want facts from those who support another for president, but will accept almost anyone who states they believe in god and that the world is only 6,000 years old, neither of which can be proven by fact.
