You really need to look at the data before you make such statements.

You can't possibly belive this can you? It was reported by the blatantly liberal and biased ABC News media group. Don't you know how unreliable and corrupt this news company is.

That aside, churches are not really charities and giving more to your church can be for a lot of reasons, some of which have nothing to do with charitable giving. You do realize that all states are only blue or red by a few percentage points? You also realize that a tax return does not reflect whether you are a Republican or Democrat. How do you know that it was not Democratic charity givers that increased the percentages? You don't. It also mainly considers monetary and hard gifts (clothes, furniture etc). "Time" is rarely reported on tax returns and many give of their time to many different charitable organizations.

It also shows that the liberal media is not as biased as many have tried to point out. If so, they would not have published such an article that conservatives could try use for their benefit.
