in crossing state lines and going from one country to another. The United States is the source of, benefactor of, and victim of a more mobile and diverse world than ever before seen. Explorers like Marco Polo and multi-national expeditions would be amazed at the advantages modern people have in trade, communication, and travel. The EU was a mechanism to manage monies, policies, cultures, and languages that had deep-rooted conflicts built into their dividing lines. Every campfire confession or caveman contract has been rooted in trust beyond the handshake, the signed deal, or the sealed agreement. It is much more efficient and effective to have individuals work out options amongst themselves, but the chieftains, lords, and ancient leaders oversee anything that could compromise their territory. Supreme authority requires more credibility. |
