People have been known to abstain for periods of time or find the means to pay for alternate means of protection. Making everyone else responsible for your situation is not helpful. Normally, educated law or graduate students are quite resourceful and capable of finding solutions on their own, unless they have a propensity for blaming others. This phenomenon seems to be epidemic in the legal and political profession.
