| I have to admit, I was somewhat impressed. She didn't hem and haw much at all, gave pretty specific answers. Was well prepared. I don't agree with all her answers, but at least they were generally not vague and wishy washy.
In all honesty, if she took the 33% marginal rate to 39.5%, I don't see that having much of a negative effect on the economy, especially is she offsets it with a lower rate for middle income taxpayers. I was fearing a Carter-esque 70% kind of marginal rate, where the incentive to make another dollar is severely watered down. |

serioulsy, the Fair Tax is the only real solution. Bandaids don't heal the problem, they only hide it.
If we raise taxes, the only ones paying taxes will have to pay more. And they will find a way to make less, so they pay less. How much of the Clinton's millions have they given to charity? How much have they managed to 'hide away' from the tax man?

Won't need much of a negative effect. Besides, raising the income tax rate will reduce tax revenue to the government, and she won't have enough to fund universal health care and her other government give-aways.
Also, isn't she planning on raising the capital gains tax and letting the estate tax moratorium expire? |

take 6.5% from folks whose investments create jobs in this country and give it to folks who buy cheap, disposable, foreign-made consumer products. That's a good idea... |

| This typifies the complete idiocy of democrats | May 3 2008, 8:30 PM |
Every year those of us who actually work for a living face our annual review.
We all hope to get a few percentage point raise maybe 3 to 5 % for the next year to help us pay our bills. If any of us get a 7% raise we think we have hit the jackpot!
Yet this idiot democrat states that giving up almost 7% of our salary to the government is okay.
Does anybody who is rationale think that the govt is going to use that 7% of your pay check better than each of you will?
God, what is happening to this great country when we continue to worry more about the fewer and fewer taxpayers who actually pay for most of our services and more about those who do nothing and expect everything to be handed to them???? |

We are socialists and we a proud of the gains we have made in moving America to the left away from the free market concept. Why should the person who gained an education and worked hard be allowed to have more than the person who does not have an education and a good paying job? |
